Job summary

Mercy Health Fairfield Hospital is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging, including screening, diagnostic, invasive, and DEXA procedures, following ARRT, ACR, and MQSA guidelines.

The role requires ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology with potential for advanced mammography registration, strong patient communication, and adherence to safety protocols. PRN/part-time opportunities offer flexible scheduling within Mercy Health’s network.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
• Advanced modality registration in Mammography preferred or must obtain within 1 year.
• State licensure preferred, unless required by the state where the job is performed.
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire for certain Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at other sites.

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique.
• Correlates clinical history with procedures and communicates history to the licensed provider.
• Operates breast imaging equipment and selects exposure factors to produce quality images.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Maintains patient safety during all mammographic procedures.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
