Job summary

Mercy Health in West Hospital seeks a Registered Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging procedures per ARRT/ACR/MQSA guidelines, including screening, diagnostic, invasive and DEXA scans with radiologist support.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT Diagnostic Radiology certification and an Associate's degree, with 1 year of mammography exp. Advanced registration preferred; BLS required at hire for certain locations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or ARRT accredited program (preferred).
• ARRT Diagnostic Radiology certification/registration required.
• Advanced modality registration in Mammography preferred or must obtain within 1 year.
• State licensure preferred, unless required by the state where the job is performed.
• BLS from American Heart Association required at hire for some Mercy Health locations; optional or required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique and proper patient consent.
• Conveys patient clinical history to the licensed provider prior to examinations.
• Selects and operates breast imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure for patient and staff.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
