Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield Imaging & Lab is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging and DEXA scans in accordance with ARRT, ACR, and MQSA guidelines. The role requires collaboration with radiologists and adherence to safety protocols.

The ideal candidate will have an ARRT diagnostic radiology certification, mammography registration (preferred or within 1 year), and strong patient communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in radiologic technology preferred.
• ARRT Certification in Diagnostic Radiology required.
• Advanced Mammography registration preferred or within 1 year.
• State licensure preferred where required.
• BLS certification required at hire for certain Mercy Health locations.

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique.
• Conveys patient clinical history to licensed provider prior to examination.
• Selects and operates breast imaging equipment and exposure factors.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in quality assessments and improvement plans.
