Job summary

BayCare Health System in Dunedin, FL seeks a Registered ER Nurse for a full-time, in-person role at Mease Dunedin. Shift is 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM, with every other weekend. Requires ER experience and nursing licensure, plus BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. Responsibilities include direct patient care, care planning with families, and emergency response.

Eligible nurses will join a team focused on compassionate care, extensive training, and opportunities for career growth within a large hospital network.

Qualifications

• RN license required to practice.
• Nursing degree at diploma/associate/bachelor level or higher.
• Minimum 1 year ER nursing experience.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in hospital emergency department.
• Delegate care activities to other health care team members.
• Plan and update care in collaboration with patient and family.
• Identify patients at risk and prepare room and environment.
• Monitor vitals and communicate changes to the team.
• Respond to medical emergencies for critically ill patients.
• Maintain high emotional intelligence to improve patient experience.
• Demonstrate professional accountability and development.

• Status: Full Time

• Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

• Every other weekend requirement

• On Call: No

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License

• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing

• 1-year registered nurse ER experience

• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards

• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team

• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others

• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment

• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.

• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition

• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients

• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
