Job summary

BayCare’s Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ER. You will deliver compassionate emergency care during the night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) in a full-time, on-site role with every-other-weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• RN License required and active.
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor or higher in Nursing.
• 1 year ER nursing experience.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a hospital ER using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate care activities to other health care team members.
• Update plan of care with patients and family involvement.
• Identify at-risk patients and prepare room environment.
• Monitor vitals, assessments, and changes in condition.
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Maintain professional accountability and development.

• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

Registered Nurse – responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
