Job summary

BayCare in St. Petersburg, FL seeks an experienced ER Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and respond to emergencies with composure.

This role requires strong clinical skills, compassion, and adherence to standards; in-person work is required. Requirements include RN license, nursing degree, 1 year ER experience, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• RN license required and nursing degree (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor).
• Minimum 1 year ER experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in the ER.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to emergencies.
• Educate patients and families and provide support.
• Maintain professional accountability and documentation.

• Location: St. Anthony's Hospital -1200 7 th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1-year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
