Job summary

BayCare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the ER at Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, FL. This full-time role supports in-person patient care in a fast-paced emergency department.

The RN will deliver compassionate, high-quality care, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and participate in ongoing training and mentorship opportunities as part of BayCare’s commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Diploma, ASN, BSN acceptable.
• Minimum 1 year ER nursing experience.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in the ER using nursing process and standards.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to health care team members.
• Organize and prioritize care plans with patients and families.
• Monitor patient vitals, assess changes, and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain professional accountability and ongoing development.

• Location: Mease Dunedin Hospital - 601 Main St, Dunedin, FL


• Status: Full Time


• Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM


• Every other weekend requirement


• On Call: No


• Always in person

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License


• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing


• 1-year registered nurse ER experience


• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association


• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association


• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards


• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team


• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others


• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment


• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.


• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition


• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients


• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
