Job summary

Step Beyond Development in New York is hiring Behavior Technicians to work one-on-one with children aged 2–17, implementing individualized behavior plans under a BCBA's guidance. You will teach communication, social, and daily living skills using evidence-based techniques while tracking progress.

We provide comprehensive training, and there are opportunities for advancement within a BCBA-led center. The role requires energy, compassion, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with shifts

Qualifications

• Must be passionate about helping children with autism.
• Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team.
• 18+ years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification after onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children aged 2–17, implementing individualized behavior plans under BCBA guidance.
• Use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation in coordination with the BCBA.
