Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad in Marshalltown, IA is seeking a Track Laborer - Regional to help maintain and repair railroad tracks across the designated territory. You will inspect tracks, perform repairs, and assist with moving materials to keep trains running safely.

This role requires physical stamina, compliance with FRA rules, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions. You’ll join a long-standing team delivering essential maintenance with opportunities for overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pass an English assessment prior to interview.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
• Must successfully complete a Physical Ability Test (PAT).

Responsibilities

• Inspect railroad tracks, beds, and right-of-way to identify defects.
• Repair and replace rails, anchors, spikes, ballast, and ties.
• Move track materials and equipment; may dig holes and trenches.
• Perform track maintenance and installations; operate heavy equipment as needed.
• Maintain track beds by clearing vegetation and debris; remove snow/dust.
• Follow FRA safety rules and company procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers; handle high-pressure situations.
