Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking a Track Laborer - Regional to support the upkeep and enhancement of railroad tracks across designated territories. You will conduct inspections, perform repairs, and assist with track material handling to ensure safe and efficient train movement across North America.

The role requires physical labor, compliance with safety standards, and the ability to work in varying weather and travel conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Proficient verbal and written communication to coworkers and supervisors.
• Experience reading and understanding safety rules, bulletins, and regulatory documents.
• Candidates must successfully complete an English assessment before interview.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railroad tracks, beds, and right-of-way to identify defects.
• Perform repairs and replacements of rails, anchors, spikes, ballast, and ties.
• Assist with handling, unloading, and movement of track materials and equipment.
• Perform track maintenance tasks and installations, potentially using heavy equipment.
• Maintain track beds by removing vegetation and debris; remove dust/snow from movable parts.
• Adhere to safety rules and FRA regulations at all times.
