Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead safety programs across multiple locations within the region. The role focuses on delivering safety training, monitoring compliance, and driving continual improvements in safety performance.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent experience with 5+ years in Safety, Health and Environmental Management. Travel is required, with strong Excel/Office skills and knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field, or equivalent experience with 5+ years of safety/health management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to groups.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans based on leading and lagging indicators.
• Proactive, dependable, organized, and customer-service oriented.
• Willingness to travel; overnight travel required.
• Knowledge of OSHA construction and general industry regulation; DOT regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and propose procedures to improve organizational performance.
• Oversee safety protocols at profit centers within geographic area; ensure compliance.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits per program criteria and carrier fleet compliance.
• Assign Safety Coordinators to locations and provide training and guidance.
• Identify deficiencies; issue corrective actions with timelines; support claims management.
