Job summary

Career Team seeks a Project Director to oversee a single workforce development project in Deep East Texas. You will drive strategic plan execution, ensure contract compliance, and lead a high-functioning team across twelve counties.

You will coordinate with WSDET and the Texas Workforce Commission, manage budgets and funding, and foster collaborations with boards and community partners. A Bachelor’s degree and strong leadership skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of operational leadership and management experience.
• 3+ years in dynamic team environments with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• 2+ years computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail/Calendar/Docs/Sheets/Drive).
• Willingness to uphold core values and foster innovation and collaboration.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to lead teams with varying working styles.
• Ability to handle personnel matters confidentially and with tact.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a single project’s strategic plan and execution as a Project Director.
• Serve as primary local contact and contract liaison with WSDET and TWC.
• Manage daily operations across the twelve-county Deep East region.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and program monitoring.
• Lead and coach frontline staff to deliver services and drive performance.
• Build relationships with boards, employers, and workforce partners region-wide.
• Support business development and identify regional growth opportunities.
• Conduct regular coaching sessions and annual performance evaluations.
