Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Deputy Director to lead operations for the Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area. You will work with the Project Director to implement SOPs, supervise staff across twelve counties, and coordinate with partner agencies to fulfill contract requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of supervision, with strong communication skills and a focus on staff development and budget alignment. This is a full-time, on-site position in Deep East Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, public relations, or related field.
• 3+ years of direct supervisory experience overseeing front-line or program staff.
• Strong relationship-building with diverse groups; excellent verbal and written communication.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning new software/tools.
• Proven ability to supervise staff, interns, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Director to ensure SOPs align with WSDET and TWC policies.
• Provide day-to-day operational guidance to staff across twelve counties.
• Serve as primary operational point of contact in the Project Director's absence.
• Lead cross-training and events to strengthen relationships across offices and partners.
• Lead staff development and assist budget alignment across funding streams.
• Provide supervision and ongoing support to Center management.
• Oversee managers on program implementation, compliance, and technical assistance.
• Schedule, attend, and lead meetings with management, partners, and Board staff.
• Facilitate staff meetings and training as needed.
• Collaborate on strategic vision for operations, assessment, and marketing.
