Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Deputy Director to work onsite across the Deep East Texas region. You will collaborate with the Project Director to ensure SOPs and policy alignment with WSDET and TWC, while guiding staff and managers across multiple counties.

You will lead cross-training, oversee program implementation, and manage budgets across diverse funding streams. Strong relationship building and communication skills are essential for success in this exempt role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, public relations, or community organization/development and/or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of direct supervisory experience overseeing front-line or program staff.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse constituents.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to present to large groups.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning new software/tools.
• Ability to supervise staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Uphold Career Team values and foster innovation and collaboration.
• Flexible work ethic with courtesy and calm under pressure.
• Ability to balance a heavy workload and manage competing demands.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google workspace.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Director to ensure procedures align with WSDET and TWC policies.
• Provide day-to-day operational guidance to staff across the Deep East region.
• Serve as the primary operational contact in the Project Director's absence.
• Coordinate cross-training and events to strengthen inter-office relationships.
• Lead staff development and assist with budgetary alignment across funding streams.
• Provide supervision and support to Center management.
• Oversee Managers and provide guidance on duties, program implementation and compliance.
• Schedule and lead meetings with management, partners, and Board staff.
• Facilitate staff meetings and training as needed.
• Help implement strategic vision for operations, assessment, and marketing.
• Seek professional development to improve customer service, morale, and cohesion.
• Maintain up-to-date SOPs and contract updates/changes.
• Collaborate with partner agencies and subject matter experts to advance the mission.
• Adopt a proactive 'ZAG' mindset and handle additional duties as assigned.
