Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Regional Program Specialist - Reserve to support SAF/IS programs with overseas deployments. You’ll manage emergency communications, volunteer teams, and service delivery while coordinating logistics for mobile deployments and meetings with military leadership.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5+ years in program management, strong communication and computer skills, and willingness to live on military bases in austere environments.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, human resources management, community organization, social or health sciences, or related field is required; or related equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of five years in program management or related field.
• Managerial Experience: n/a
• Preferred: Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Skills and Abilities: Strong computer skills, public speaking, written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate emergency communication messages and support services for military members and families.
• Coordinate follow-up services and ensure activities are logged and documented.
• Maintain rosters, unit contacts, and case logs per mission guidelines.
• Support contingency operations during high-volume events and act as liaison for Hero Care casework.
• Monitor service delivery outcomes and document program activities; identify trends and needs.
• Collaborate with leadership on deployment feedback, mentorship, and onboarding for mobile staff.
• Assist with travel coordination, logistics, and reporting for deployments.
• Build relationships with military leadership, installation partners, and communities.
• Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, recognize, and offboard volunteers.
• Manage volunteer documentation and communications via Volunteer Connection; promote an inclusive environment.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of Red Cross programs and coordinate educational briefings and events.
• Maintain deployment readiness, including medical clearances, training, and security standards.
