Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Preconstruction Manager within Global Engineering Services North America Design & Construction to independently manage complex industrial preconstruction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution across North America.

You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to define scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring timely permits and a clean handoff to construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and critical path management
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and related standards
• Experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, or Owner's project management representative

Responsibilities

• Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure regulatory compliance and permitting
• Review site plans, zoning, fire code, and building code requirements for projects
• Independently manage cross-functional preconstruction projects from site selection to permit
• Lead site validation, scope development, and design management to meet Amazon's standards
• Manage multiple large industrial projects across locations and drive timely decisions
