Job summary

Blank Street in New York City seeks an Operations Manager to lead 5+ stores and their General Managers. You will hire, coach and develop an A* team, own the area's PnL, plan capacity and initiatives, and drive hospitality standards across stores.

You will report to the Director of Operations and work with the Field Leadership team to scale leadership and deliver an outstanding experience for teams and customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or another fast-growing consumer business.
• Experience leading multiple locations (3-10) and developing the managers who run them.
• Passionate about hospitality and customer/employee experiences.
• Commercial thinker with strong operational and financial judgement.
• People leader who can hire, coach, and drive change.
• Strategic planner who can map quarter-ahead priorities into executable plans.
• Excellent communicator with written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the ultimate hospitality leader, coaching GMs to uphold high standards.
• Hold the bar by monitoring standards across stores and addressing gaps quickly.
• Jump in to turn around underperforming stores or launch new ones.
• Plan for demand with quarterly sales forecasts and translate to store plans.
• Build labor plans including headcount and rotas for the area.
• Calibrate inventory to forecast demand and avoid overstocking.
