Area Operations Leader — Multi-Store Growth

Job summary

Blank Street is seeking an Operations Manager to lead an area of 5+ stores and the General Managers who run them. You will hire, coach and develop an A* team of GMs, own the area PnL, and drive strategic planning, prioritization and execution to improve performance every day.

You’ll report to the Director of Operations and collaborate with the Field Leadership team to scale leaders and deliver exceptional experiences for both teams and customers in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or another fast-growing consumer business.
• Experience leading multiple locations (3-10) and developing the managers who run them.
• Commercial thinker with strong operational and financial judgment (read P&L, KPI dashboards).
• People leader with ability to hire, coach, and lead through change.
• Strategic planner capable of turning priorities into actionable plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach GMs to maintain high hospitality standards across shifts.
• Monitor area standards through store visits and data; hold GMs accountable.
• Lead turnarounds of underperforming stores and open new ones.
• Plan demand by translating quarterly forecasts into store plans.
• Build labor plans and coach GMs on rosters.
• Calibrate inventory to forecast demand with guardrails.
• Develop GMs into future leaders through training and feedback.
• Drive area talent pipeline with quarterly succession targets.
• Foster a collaborative, high-energy Blank Street culture.
• Own KPIs and PnL for your area; set weekly/quarterly priorities.
• Roll out new initiatives with clear communication and adoption tracking.
