Job summary

Crescent Electric Supply Company is seeking an Area Operations Manager to oversee multiple branch locations within a Super District in the US Midwest. You will translate corporate strategy into regional execution, develop Branch Managers, and drive safety, service, inventory, and financial performance.

You will partner with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR to ensure operational capabilities support revenue growth and customer commitments, travel 40-60% within the region, and foster a culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent leadership experience).
• 5–7 years of progressive operations leadership experience, preferably in electrical distribution, industrial distribution, wholesale distribution, or logistics environments.
• Demonstrated experience directing multi-location operations or regional branch networks.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing operational budgets and performance metrics.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Branch Managers and operational teams across the region.
• Establish clear performance expectations and operational standards across all locations.
• Translate corporate strategy and operational initiatives into regional execution plans.
• Drive accountability for operational results through regular performance reviews and KPIs.
• Drive regional financial performance including revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, productivity, inventory management, and working capital optimization.
• Monitor branch performance using KPIs related to inventory turns, service levels, operating costs, productivity, and safety.
• Develop and manage regional operating budgets and forecasts.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce cost, and improve asset utilization.
• Champion a safety-first culture across all branch and warehouse environments.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and safety policies; conduct safety reviews and audits.
• Deliver high service levels, product availability, and on-time delivery; support major projects and service commitments.
• Oversee regional inventory strategy and forecasting; improve fulfillment processes.
• Recruit, develop, and retain Branch Managers; build leadership capability.
• Head operational improvement initiatives; drive ISO management system readiness and audits.
