Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a Regional Maintenance Technician to split time between Preserve North in Peabody, MA and multiple sites in the North Shore area. The role covers performance of maintenance across units, common areas, and grounds, with leadership duties for other technicians.

Salary ranges from $31.00 to $34.00 per hour, based on experience, and the position typically runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in the Boston metro area.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Ability to travel within assigned territory with occasional overnight stays.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Basic literacy with computers/tablets.
• On-call availability for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Lead and train other maintenance technicians.
• Complete service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Ensure vacant apartments are market-ready and cleaned to standards.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks.
• Maintain grounds, snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for on-call work during off-hours.

About The Opportunity

WinnCompanies is looking for a Regional Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will split your time between Preserve North in Peabody, MA and multiple sites in the North Shore area of Massachusetts. Please note that this regional position may be assigned to any property in the portfolio and is expected to work at multiple sites in the Boston area based on the need. Unit range can vary between 60-500 units. In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in your assigned communities, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots. You will also lead and train other maintenance technicians on the team.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $31.00 to $34.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Additionally, the selected candidate will typically work: Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, problem solve, and make repairs in such areas as, but not limited to: appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic and HVAC.
• Lead and train other maintenance technicians.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Ensure vacant apartments are prepared for occupancy and market ready in accordance with company standards.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in leading and assisting the completion of the preventive maintenance program, building and safety inspections and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• Ability to travel within assigned territory with occasional overnight stay.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).
