WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician III for Fairlawn Estates at the T in Mattapan, MA, a 347-unit affordable community. Responsibilities

• Diagnose, problem solve, and make repairs across appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Lead and train other maintenance technicians.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Ensure vacant apartments are prepared for occupancy and market-ready.
• Assist in leading preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal, including snow removal and trash management.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours as scheduled.

WinnCompanies is searching for aMaintenance Technician III to join our team at Fairlawn Estates at the T, a 347-unit affordable community located in Mattapan, MA.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots. You will also lead and train other maintenance technicians on the team.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $26.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, the selected candidate will typically work: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an on-call rotation of being on-call 1 week, off 3 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, problem solve, and make repairs in such areas as, but not limited to: appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic and HVAC.
• Lead and train other maintenance technicians.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Ensure vacant apartments are prepared for occupancy and market ready in accordance with company standards.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in leading and assisting the completion of the preventive maintenance program, building and safety inspections and annual unit inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Must have mobile smart phone - will be reimbursed monthly.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).
• Ability to speak Haitian Creole or Spanish is a plus.
