Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for New Codman Square Apartments, an 80-unit LIHTC community in Dorchester, MA. The role supports repairs, prepares market-ready apartments, and maintains grounds with a focus on quality service.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with on-call rotations. Candidates should have basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, and a valid driver's license. Benefits include competitive packages and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in areas such as appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market-ready status.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies as scheduled.

About The Opportunity

WinnCompanies is searching for a Maintenance Technician I to join our team at New Codman Square Apartments, an 80-unit Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Commercial housing community located in Dorchester, MA.

The pay range for this role is $21.50-$23.00 per hour.

Additionally, the selected candidate will typically work: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role requires availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).
