Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an IT Support Technician to diagnose and resolve issues across desktops, servers, and networks in the Grand Rapids area. You will provide on-site and remote support, document interactions, and ensure ticket adherence to SOPs and KPIs.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, familiarity with Windows OS, AD/GP, and basic server concepts, plus willingness to travel. Certifications such as A+, Net+, or Sec+ are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven troubleshooting across OS, hardware, and network issues.
• Experience with Windows OS installation, recovery, updates.
• Familiarity with AD, Group Policy, file sharing, Exchange.
• Ability to travel as needed; valid drivers license.
• Certifications: A+, Net+, Sec+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving workstations, mobile devices, OS, software, hardware, and servers.
• Provide customer support onsite and remotely using connection software.
• Document and follow up on every customer interaction.
• Prioritize and resolve tickets per SOPs and knowledge-base articles.
• Troubleshoot advanced desktop problems, VPN, hardware failures, and basic server functions.
• Back up data and perform system restores; run tests and document outcomes.
• Support customers in Grand Rapids, MI, with possible travel to Lansing, MI.
