Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer and Regional Technical Leader to provide technical and organizational leadership in our Power and Energy practice. You will lead HV substation design, serve as Engineer of Record, and mentor a growing team across multiple offices in the United States.

The role requires delivering complex projects from planning through startup, managing budgets and resources, and driving technical excellence and client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE license required or ability to obtain license.
• 15+ years of related experience in substation design and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, execution and delivery of HV substations 230kV–345kV.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for physical design.
• Mentor and develop engineers and designers on the team.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for delivery from planning to startup.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, resource planning, and quality control.
