Job summary
CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to provide both technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers while delivering high‑voltage substation designs from planning through startup.
The role requires deep expertise in HV substation physical design, readiness to act as EOR, and collaboration across offices.
Qualifications
- PE license required.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related discipline.
- At least 15 years of related experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Experience leading regional or multi-office teams is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, execution, and delivery of HV substations ranging from 13.8kV to 345kV.
- Act as Engineer of Record (EOR) for substation physical design.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables for quality and compliance.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated project delivery.
- Manage team utilization, budgets, schedules, and project performance.
- Support business development and client relationship management.
