Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is hiring an Area Driver Trainer to lead regional driver onboarding, governance, and safety training. The role focuses on certifying drivers, mentoring local trainers, and upholding high safety standards across the region.

The position requires a CDL Class A with Hazmat, DOT Medical Card, and LPG trainer endorsement; a Bachelor’s in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience is preferred. Expect 70% travel within the region and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold CDL Class A with Hazmat endorsement and a valid DOT Medical Card.
• LPG trainer endorsement (KS/AR/MO) is required/preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent experience; CMV management a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regional driver onboarding for 75–100 drivers and maintain curriculum.
• Direct the rollout of Driver Training Curriculum and Safety Manual; onboard and audit local Trainers.
• Coach on safety standards (Smith System, GOAL, backing protocols) and conduct hands-on evaluations.
• Lead final field check-rides and authorize driver certifications; coordinate retraining as needed.
• Partner with Area Safety Managers on accident investigations and DOT compliance.
