Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is seeking an Area Driver Trainer to lead driver safety, onboarding quality, and field readiness across the region. You will set the training benchmark, supervise local trainers, and certify drivers while partnering with safety leaders on incident investigations.

The role emphasizes coaching, adherence to high safety standards, and ensuring every CMV driver begins the road with confidence. Extensive travel is required.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with Hazmat, DOT Medical Card, and LPG trainer endorsement.
• Bachelor’s in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent; 2+ years CMV management; 3+ years risk management.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSR (Title 49) and DOT CSA scoring; SDS reading ability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee onboarding for 75–100 drivers and audit logs.
• Direct regional rollout of the Driver Training Curriculum and Safety Manual; onboard and audit local Trainers.
• Coach safety standards (Smith System, GOAL) and conduct hands-on evaluations.
• Lead final field certifications, retraining, and documentation to address skill gaps.
• Coordinate DOT compliance and incident management with Area Safety Managers.
