Job summary

Airgas is hiring an Area Driver Trainer to lead driver safety, onboarding quality, and field readiness across the region. You will oversee training governance, mentor local trainers, perform final certifications, and partner with safety leaders on incident investigations.

The role requires CDL with Hazmat, DOT Medical Card, LPG endorsement and 5 years of CMV/risk management experience, with 70% travel and relocation to OKC or Wichita KS.

Qualifications

• Licensure & Endorsements: Class A CDL (clean record), Hazmat endorsement, valid DOT Medical Card, LPG trainer endorsement (KS/AR/MO). Preferred 5 years of experience.
• Education & Experience: Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent), 2+ years CMV management, 3+ years risk management experience.
• Knowledge & Skills: Expert in FMCSR (Title 49) and DOT CSA scoring; SDS reading; influence and train without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead Regional Training & Governance: oversee onboarding curriculums and audits, evaluating local trainers.
• Curriculum Management: rollout Driver Training Curriculum and Safety Manual; onboard and audit local Trainers.
• Safety Protocol Enforcement: coach and enforce core safety standards; hands-on evaluations of operational skills.
• Driver Certification & Retraining: lead field check-rides and address skill gaps with retraining.
• DOT Compliance & Incident Management: partner on investigations; coordinate DOT roadside inspection prep.
