Job summary

Airgas is hiring an Area Driver Trainer to lead driver safety, onboarding quality, and field readiness across the region. You will set training benchmarks for CMV operators, certify drivers, and partner with safety leaders on investigations.

This is a leadership role with a focus on coaching and standardized instruction. You will oversee the curriculum, audit local trainers, and ensure adherence to safety standards while coordinating with field teams and regulators.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and DOT CSA scoring.
• Ability to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Experience coaching/trainers and influencing without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Oversee driver training governance and regional onboarding for 75–100 drivers.
• Direct curriculum rollout and trainer onboarding across regions; audit logs and pre-arrival prep.
• Enforce core safety standards (Smith System, GOAL, backing, speed, E-Logs) with hands-on evaluations.
• Lead final field check-rides; coordinate retraining and documentation to close skill gaps.
• Partner with Area Safety Managers on incident investigations and DOT roadside prep.
