Job summary

Arnold & Porter is seeking a Regional Business Development & Marketing Manager to lead initiatives across California and the firm’s Technology & Media Industry Group, Technology Transactions practice, and Telecommunications practice.

This role is located in our San Francisco office and partners with California leadership to develop a coordinated market strategy that elevates the firm’s profile and generates new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience in marketing and business development in professional services is preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills are essential.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and experience management tools is preferred.
• Ability to manage budgets and measure ROI across programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop market strategies for California and for national practice groups.
• Create pitches, proposals, and RFP responses tailored to opportunities.
• Analyze market trends and client needs to identify growth opportunities.
• Manage marketing collateral: website content, brochures, capability statements, presentations, bios, and experience lists.
• Plan and execute webinars and client events with the Events Team; provide on-site support.
• Identify sponsorships, conferences, and speaking engagements to raise profile.
• Support lateral partner integration and develop individual business development plans.
• Lead submissions for directories and rankings (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500).
• Collaborate with BD colleagues to pursue cross-selling across practices and groups.
• Use CRM and experience management systems to target relationships and opportunities.
• Develop and manage budgets; track expenditures and ROI across initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members; provide coverage for the Marketing Dept.
