Job summary

Heartland Co-op in Slater, IA is seeking a Sales Specialist to drive agronomy input product sales to production customers. You will build long-term relationships and sell seed, fertilizer, ag chemicals and services.

You will maintain customer lists, leverage marketing programs, stay updated on agronomic trends, and demonstrate products via test plots on farms. A valid driver’s license is required for territory travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
• 4–5 years related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Make sales calls throughout territory to determine agronomy needs and build relationships.
• Develop and maintain a current list of customers and prospects with potential size and credit worthiness.
• Utilize marketing programs, products, and resources to sell agronomy products ethically.
• Stay current on agronomic products, trends, problems to make educated recommendations.
• Plan and carry out test plots at farms to demonstrate improved crop varieties as sales tools.
