United Digestive in Atlanta seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to manage referrals and schedule patient appointments across visit types. The role includes contacting patients by phone, email, or portal to inform them of active referrals, documenting information, and coordinating with primary care physicians and hospitals.

The position requires a high school diploma, computer literacy, and basic healthcare IT skills; 2–3 years of clinic experience and gastroenterology familiarity are preferred.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be computer literate with demonstrated ability to operate healthcare information systems and Microsoft Office.
• 2-3 years of specialty clinic experience preferred.
• Gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Contacts patients via phone, email, or patient portal to notify them of referrals and schedule appointments.
• Manages rescheduling, cancellations, and no-shows to ensure successful appointment outcomes.
• Adheres to referral process protocols to ensure timely communication.
• Collects and records accurate patient information per documentation requirements.
• Promptly answers incoming calls and emails regarding appointments and information requests from referring providers.
• Meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards as set by United Digestive.
• Complies with HIPAA and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Acts as a liaison between the PSC, referring practices, and hospitals.
• Participates in staff meetings and marketing activities as directed by management.
• Cross-trains and performs PSC functions such as phone triage, check-in/check-out, scheduling, pre-certification, or handling medical records.
• Performs additional duties and/or special projects as assigned.
