Qualifications

• Knowledge of insurance benefit programs and medical terminology.
• Ability to effectively interact with providers, staff, patients and insurance plan representatives.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must have prior computer experience, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient calls providing general information and education.
• Greets patients arriving for appointments and assists with forms and technology.
• Assesses patient needs and processes prescriptions, forms, or appointment requests.
• Reviews schedules and reschedules patients to keep bookings full.
• Sends follow-up tasks like lab or radiology scheduling as directed.
• Handles calls from providers, staff, and patients and routes messages.
• Processes authorizations and pre-certifications for external and urgent procedures.
• Monitors queues and ensures referrals are completed timely.
• Acts as liaison between primary care physicians and specialists.
