Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Referral Coordinator to serve as a key connection between patients and their healthcare team. You will handle all aspects of the referral process, including authorizations and follow-up, to ensure smooth patient care.

The role focuses on coordinating referrals, obtaining authorizations, educating patients and staff, and maintaining accurate records within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with insurance referrals, prior authorization or other relevant medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach.
• Contact insurance companies to obtain authorization for specific plans.
• Educate patients and staff with referral and insurance information.
• Obtain urgent authorizations as needed and schedule/confirm patient appointments.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information; maintain accurate documentation and records.
