Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Referral Coordinator to serve as a key connection between patients and their healthcare team. You will handle all aspects of the referral process, including authorizations and follow-up, while delivering exceptional service.

Role requires 2+ years in insurance referrals or medical office settings. Day shift, full-time position with opportunities for growth and a mission-driven environment in Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience with insurance referrals, prior authorization or other relevant medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies and obtain authorization for specific plans.
• Educate patients and staff with pertinent referral and insurance information.
• Obtain urgent authorizations same day and next day.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Answer questions, route calls appropriately, and relay messages to clinical staff.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.
• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Test tracks the referrals until fulfilled by the patient.
