Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Referral Coordinator to serve as a key connection between patients and their healthcare team. You will handle all aspects of the referral process, including authorizations and follow-up, in a day-shift, full-time role at our Ann Arbor location.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience with insurance referrals or prior authorizations and a High School Diploma. Excellent customer service and meticulous records management are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years experience with insurance referrals or prior authorizations.
• Experience in a busy medical office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies to obtain authorizations for specific plans.
• Educate patients and staff with referral and insurance information.
• Obtain urgent authorizations same day or next day.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Answer questions and route calls to clinical staff.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.
• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Track referrals until fulfilled by the patient.
