Job summary

MUSC Children’s Health is seeking a Referral Management Specialist I to serve as the first point of contact for patients and referring physicians seeking referral information and access to medical care. The role schedules appointments across multiple specialties in a busy call center using an automated system.

Responsibilities include triaging calls, collecting data, and coordinating with clinical teams to ensure efficient access and accurate information for the patient record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in medical office, call center, patient access area, or customer service.
• Typing speed 35 CWPM required.

Responsibilities

• Triages patient calls according to established algorithms.
• Schedules appointments for multiple specialties and primary care physicians.
• Collects and maintains accurate patient demographics, insurance, and contact information.
• Provides excellent customer service and supports clinic operations and revenue cycle.
