Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Referral Management Specialist I to be the first point of contact for patients and referring physicians. In a busy call center, you will triage calls, gather patient information, and schedule appointments across multiple specialties and primary care.

You will support the revenue cycle and deliver high-quality customer service by resolving inquiries and directing matters to the appropriate clinical team, while maintaining accurate data and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a medical office, call center, patient access area, or customer service.
• Prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced call center.
• Typing speed of 35 CWPM is required.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Internet/Intranet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Triages patient calls and provides access and referral information.
• Facilitates the referral process and schedules appointments for multiple specialties.
• Answers questions, resolves issues, and refers to the appropriate clinical team.
• Collects and validates demographic, physician, insurance, employment, and emergency contact details.
