Job summary

MUSC is seeking a Referral Management Specialist I to be the initial contact for individuals and referring physicians seeking access and referral information. In a call center environment, you will facilitate referrals and schedule appointments across multiple specialties using an automated scheduling system.

Under supervision you will triage calls, answer questions, collect patient data, and ensure accurate records while supporting clinic operations and revenue cycle.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a medical office, call center, patient access area, or customer service.
• Typing speed of 35 CWPM required.
• Strong verbal, written, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with patients, physicians, and departmental partners.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient calls according to established algorithms and route to appropriate clinical team.
• Schedule appointments for multiple specialties and primary care physicians using automated scheduling system.
• Gather and verify demographic, insurance, and contact information to complete patient records.
