Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians is seeking Referral Management Specialist I to schedule appointments across multiple specialties within a call center. You will triage calls, resolve issues, and refer patients to the appropriate clinical teams while coordinating requests in a single call.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with two years of Medical Office/Call Center experience, strong data collection skills, and comfort with Windows/Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum Training and Education: High school diploma or GED and two years’ experience in a Medical Office, Call Center, or customer service environment.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a busy setting.
• Experience with computers including Windows, Excel, and intranet/internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments across multiple specialties within a call center using an automated system.
• Triages patient calls, addresses inquiries, resolves issues, and refers to clinical teams as needed.
• Act as primary advocate for patients, coordinating requests in a single phone call.
• Maintain current knowledge of services and protocols, manage faxes and referrals, and collect accurate demographic and physician data.
