Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an experienced Red Team Penetration Tester to perform penetration testing and offensive cyber operations for U.S. Government and DoD systems. You will work with Blue Team and cybersecurity professionals to improve overall cyber posture.

Required: ACTIVE Secret Clearance (Top Secret with SCI eligibility preferred). US citizenship for clearance. Five years of DoD/IT security experience, strong Linux/Windows knowledge, and hands-on use of Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, and Cobalt

Qualifications

• Five (5) years' experience in software engineering applied to DoD or IT systems.
• Linux with a firm grasp
• Windows with enterprise network understanding
• Strong working knowledge of Penetration Testing tools (Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike)
• Experience in Penetration Testing, Red Team, or exploit development (Python, C, C++, Go, PowerShell)
• Experience with AD/Entra ID and cloud identity integrations
• Experience with AWS, cloud security, REST/SOAP web testing
• Minimum certifications such as Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP

Responsibilities

• Debug and reverse engineer software.
• Analyze Windows events and Linux logs.
• Develop and debug Web 2.0, Java, Perl, C++, and scripting tools.
• Recommend mitigations for vulnerabilities.
• Operate systems across Unix and Windows.
• Identify security flaws in code and architectures.
• Apply NSA encryption standards and STIGs.
• Contribute to system administration and manuals.
