Job summary

SimVentions is seeking an experienced Red Team Penetration Tester to perform offensive cybersecurity operations for DoD and U.S. Government systems. The role requires active Secret/Top Secret clearances and deep expertise across Linux, Windows, and PENTEST tools.

Candidate will work with Blue Team and Cybersecurity teams to strengthen the organization’s cyber posture and defense capabilities. Strong scripting and reverse engineering skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years' experience in software engineering applied to DoD or IT systems.
• Firm grasp of Linux with enterprise network understanding.
• Foundational Windows knowledge and enterprise network familiarity.
• Strong proficiency with PENTEST tools: Kali, Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike.
• Experience in Red Team, penetration testing, or security software development.
• Knowledge of scripting languages: Python, C, C++, Go, PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Debug and reverse engineer software.
• Analyze Windows events and Linux logs for security insights.
• Develop and test security tooling and scripts.
• Operate and administer mixed-OS environments (HP-UX, UNIX, Linux, Windows).
• Identify vulnerabilities in code and architectures and recommend mitigations.
• Apply NSA STIGs and secure encryption technologies.
• Contribute to security documentation and best practices.
