Job summary

Hertz is seeking a Subrogation Supervisor in Oklahoma City to lead claims processing, subrogation opportunities, and coordination with CRU and Liability teams. You will drive data quality, team performance, and customer service across field locations and third parties.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Business or equivalent experience, insurance/collections exposure, and strong leadership. This is a hybrid position with a competitive starting salary around $55,000.

• Manage the handling of first-party claims to ensure subrogation opportunities are identified and referred to CRU within deadlines.
• Oversee identification of third-party claims and referrals to the Liability team.
• Supervise the collection team to meet performance targets.
• Establish and maintain a formal communication process with Hertz locations for feedback on FNOL notifications and issues.
• Perform other duties, projects, and ad hoc assignments as required.
• Manage team workflows to maximize efficiency and service levels.
• Establish team/individual performance goals and provide coaching and feedback.
• Monitor attendance, leave, and HR matters to ensure policy compliance.
• Oversee a self-audit program to monitor procedures and quality.

A Day in Life:

The Subrogation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the people, processes, and performance associated with the reporting, intake, and processing of claims from field locations and third parties. This role ensures claims are accurately documented, appropriately routed to the Liability team or the Central Recovery Unit (CRU) when subrogation opportunities exist, and handled in accordance with established procedures and timelines.

The Subrogation Supervisor is accountable for ensuring incidents are reported accurately and promptly; claims are reviewed, opened, and assigned for the appropriate handling; and damage costs, liability determinations, and recovery opportunities are properly documented and pursued. This role also oversees customer communications, including obtaining supporting documentation, maintaining written correspondence, and ensuring a high level of service throughout the claims process. The supervisor partners with internal stakeholders to drive consistency, compliance, operational efficiency, and successful claim resolution.

We expect the starting salary to be around $55,000, commensurate of experience. This role is hybrid in Oklahoma City, OK.

What Will You Do:

• Establish and maintain a formal communication process with Hertz locations to provide feedback on the quality and timeliness of FNOL notifications and other critical issues.
• Perform other duties, projects, and ad hoc assignments as required.
• Manage team workflows and workloads to maximize efficiency, productivity, and service levels.
• Establish team and individual performance goals, monitor progress, and provide coaching and feedback to ensure desired business and employee outcomes are achieved.
• Monitor attendance, vacation time, sick leave, and employee‑related matters to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and HR guidelines.
• Oversee a self‑audit program to monitor compliance with procedures, quality standards, and customer service expectations.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor Degree in Business and/or equivalent work experience
• Insurance, collections, or recovery experience required.
• Strong leadership, people management, negotiation, and professionalism skills.
• Knowledge of auto damage insurance principles and processes preferred.
• Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and applicable collection regulations.
• Understanding of state statutes and regulations related to collections and claims handling.
