Job summary

Resilience Behavioral Health of Illinois in Willowbrook, IL is seeking a full-time Peer Support Specialist to join the operations team. The role blends client-focused peer support with day-to-day site operations within our behavioral health treatment program.

You will use lived recovery experience to engage clients, support milieu safety, coordinate schedules across PHP, IOP, and outpatient tracks, and provide administrative support to ensure smooth program delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRSS credential strongly preferred; pursuing allowed.
• 1–2 years in behavioral health or direct care.
• Comfort with individuals in mental health and substance use treatment.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Full-time, on-site availability in Willowbrook, IL (days).

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and mentorship to clients.
• Monitor milieu and supervise clients for safety.
• Assist with daily program operations and check-in/out.
• Coordinate between clinical and administrative staff.
• Document observations and daily activity logs.
• Coordinate client transportation, groups, and appointments.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming facility and flag safety needs.
• Provide general administrative support as needed.
• Respond calmly to de-escalate situations.
