Job summary

Resilience Behavioral Health of Illinois seeks a Peer Support Specialist to join our Willowbrook team. The role combines client-facing peer support with on-site administrative duties, reporting to the admin team on a day shift.

Responsibilities include mentoring clients using lived recovery experience, supervising the milieu, and coordinating between clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth program operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRSS credential preferred; candidates actively working toward CRSS will be considered.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in behavioral health or direct care.
• Comfort working with individuals in treatment for mental health and substance use.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with multitasking ability in a fast-paced setting.
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and mentorship to clients using lived recovery experience.
• Monitor the milieu and supervise clients to maintain a safe environment.
• Support daily program operations, including client check-in/check-out, attendance tracking, and coordination between clinical and administrative staff.
• Assist clients with daily living needs, program orientation, and general questions; escalate clinical concerns as needed.
• Document client observations and daily activity logs per facility and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate scheduling and transportation for groups and appointments across PHP, IOP, and outpatient tracks.
• Maintain a clean, organized facility and flag maintenance or safety needs to leadership.
• Provide general administrative support such as answering phones, filing, and data entry.
• Respond calmly to de-escalate situations following safety protocols.
