Wheeler is seeking a Peer Specialist in Waterbury, CT, to support individuals in early recovery and reduce relapse risk. You will mentor clients, connect them to recovery resources, and advocate for effective services across community and clinical settings.

The role requires a sustained recovery background, a valid driver’s license, and CCAR certification. It is a full-time position based in Waterbury/New Britain locations with comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be an individual in sustained recovery from addiction.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CCAR peer certification.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide education on addiction recovery and facilitate linkages to services.
• Provide recovery education to service recipients for every phase of recovery.
• Assist in training, outreach, and public education as assigned.
