Meijer Inc. seeks a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations while mentoring team members to deliver exceptional customer service and sales results.

The role oversees staffing, training, and development, and ensures adherence to Meijer standards. You will drive profitability, promote a strong safety culture, and model a positive image across the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly to the team.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve customer service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; make recommendations on discharge.
• Manage P&L, sales, and shrink in the department.
• Maintain Meijer standards and a safe work environment.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
• Ensure staff are trained in all aspects of their jobs and adhere to training requirements.
• Spend the majority of time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
