GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking Rebuild Navigator Coordinator to be the first point of contact for people seeking help. They screen applicants, gather necessary personal information, and answer questions or concerns. To succeed in this role, strong attention to detail, organization, people skills, and excellent customer service are essential. This position is key to our disaster response, helping manage urgent requests for support.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Screen interested applicants, determine service needs (Mortgage Assistance, Home Repair, Homeownership, Disaster Relief, etc.), and provide information and referral 30 assistance to appropriate agencies and community programs to assist non-eligible individuals.
  • Support disaster response intake by gathering, documenting, and tracking urgent requests related to natural disasters (e.g., wildfires, floods), ensuring timely handoff to the appropriate internal team, such as Home Preservation or Case Management.
  • Collect eligibility documentation from prospective participants and provide timely feedback to participants seeking grant information via email or phone.
  • Participate in regular meetings, trainings, and accept the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships.
SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, authorization, and a driving record check
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with individuals in need, often during stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality service and support to diverse populations.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks, tracking applicant data, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, especially in responding to emails and phone inquiries.
  • Comfortable handling urgent requests and high-stakes situations, particularly in disaster response scenarios.
  • Ability to use common office software (e.g., email, databases, spreadsheets) to track and manage applicant information.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00

Salary offers are based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, experience, and qualifications. They range from entry to mid-level. .
