Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is seeking a Community Impact Manager to expand access to housing programs across Los Angeles County. The role builds partnerships, leads outreach, and develops referral pipelines while coordinating with program sites.

This hybrid position requires travel, evening and weekend availability, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders to drive community impact.

Qualifications

  • Must pass drug test, background check, and driving record check.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and CA Driver’s License with sufficient insurance.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for Habitat LA events.
  • Three or more years of experience in community outreach, partnership development, government relations, disaster recovery, housing programs, or nonprofit services.

Responsibilities

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles has been an active affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International for more than 30 years. By building and preserving affordable housing through new construction, renovations, and home repairs, Habitat LA is transforming communities throughout Los Angeles County. Through access to affordable loans, housing counseling, down-payment assistance, skilled construction training, financial education, and volunteer opportunities, the organization has strengthened families, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the region. On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region each year, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Community Impact Manager strengthens Habitat LA’s presence throughout Los Angeles County by developing strategic partnerships and connecting community members with housing, homeownership, disaster recovery, and other community-based programs. This role leads outreach efforts, engages key stakeholders, and builds referral pipelines to expand access to Habitat LA’s services.

This is a hybrid position that combines remote and in office work with regular travel throughout Los Angeles County to attend community meetings, outreach events, partner engagements, and activities at Habitat LA program sites. Evening and weekend availability is required as needed.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Community Outreach, Partnerships, and Pipeline Development - Develop outreach strategies, build community partnerships, represent Habitat LA at meetings and events, coordinate presentations, and generate qualified referrals into Habitat LA programs.

ReBUILD LA Disaster Recovery Support - Support ReBUILD LA through community outreach, homeowner engagement, recovery meetings, events, workshops, LTRG coordination, and disaster recovery partnerships.

Strategic Initiatives, Government Relations Support, and Community Affairs - Manage assigned strategic portfolios, including special interest communities, neighborhood revitalization, grant-funded initiatives, region-specific outreach, development-specific engagement, and civic relationship-building with elected officials, public agencies, coalitions, and community partners.

  • Project Management, Tracking, and Reporting - Manage multiple outreach projects, track activities, partnerships, referrals, and outcomes, prepare reports and summaries, and support continuous improvement.
SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, and driving record check
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for Habitat LA events
  • Must have a reliable internet connection
  • Three or more years of experience in community outreach, partnership development, government relations, disaster recovery, housing programs, or nonprofit services.
  • Experience planning and facilitating community meetings, workshops, presentations, and outreach events.
  • Strong public speaking, written communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and strategic initiatives while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience tracking outreach activities, referrals, partnerships, and program outcomes and preparing reports.
  • Knowledge of Los Angeles County communities, housing needs, and community resources preferred.
  • Experience supporting disaster recovery, grant funded programs, or neighborhood revitalization initiatives is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid, community-based environment.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $26.44 -- $31,25 Salary offers are based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, experience, and qualifications. Offers are between the entry to mid-level range.
