Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is seeking a Homeownership Program Manager to oversee the full application and eligibility process for our Homeownership Program. You will recruit participants, process online applications, determine eligibility, and provide personalized support to selected participants, ensuring smooth operations across the program lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing applications and supporting documentation to determine program eligibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database or case management systems; experience with HomeKeeper or similar housing software is a plus.
  • Experience preparing reports, performing data entry, and maintaining accurate program records.
  • Experience providing customer service and working directly with diverse populations in a professional and compassionate manner

Responsibilities

  • Examine and evaluate all submitted documents to ensure their authenticity.
  • Calculate income, debt-to-income ratios, and housing ratios.
  • Communicate with applicants via phone and email to obtain any outstanding documentation necessary for processing pending applications.
  • Ensure that applicant files are complete and well-organized.
  • Advise applicants on program regulations, as well as administrative policies and procedures as needed.
  • Manage and facilitate regular contact with selected partners, homebuyers, and Habitat homeowners.
  • Track, monitor, and assess program participants' progress throughout the partnership.
  • Ensure all program participants successfully complete their program requirements
  • Complete reports to detail application information and status.
  • Complete Data entry activities using HomeKeeper platform.
  • Deliver information sessions and attend appropriate community events to promote services.
  • Identify and connect with similar service providers to maintain a resource and referral database.
  • Maintain marketing material at the site of or available for partner agencies and stakeholders.
  • Connect the community to appropriate community resources and services to extend and/or leverage assistance beyond Habitat LA services.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles has been an active affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International for more than 30 years. By building and preserving affordable housing through new construction, renovations, and home repairs, Habitat LA is transforming communities throughout Los Angeles County. Through access to affordable loans, housing counseling, down-payment assistance, skilled construction training, financial education, and volunteer opportunities the organization has strengthened families, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the region. On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region each year, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide.

The Homeownership Program Managser overses every aspect of the application process for the Homeownership Program. This individual will focus on recruiting participants, processing web-based applications, determining eligibility for the program, and providing personalized support to selected participants.

1. Application Processing
  • Examine and evaluate all submitted documents to ensure their authenticity.

2. Case Management

Manage and facilitate regular contact with selected partners, homebuyers, and Habitat homeowners. Track, monitor, and assess program participants' progress throughout the partnership. Ensure all program participants successfully complete their program requirements

3. Administrative
  • Complete reports to detail application information and status.
  • Complete Data entry activities using HomeKeeper platform.

Deliver information sessions and attend appropriate community events to promote services. Identify and connect with similar service providers to maintain a resource and referral database. Maintain marketing material at the site of or available for partner agencies and stakeholders. Connect the community to appropriate community resources and services to extend and/or leverage assistance beyond Habitat LA services.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, and driving record check
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insuranc
  • Must have a reliable internet connection

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. They range from entry to mid-level.
